Artists of all backgrounds and experience levels are encouraged to apply! Clermont Main Street welcomes local and regional artists with a unique creative perspective and a passion for celebrating community history through art.

Due to the limited number of available spaces, artists are not guaranteed selection. For this first round of the “With Love from Clermont” project, Clermont Main Street will select 47 artists to participate.

If you are not selected, we encourage you to apply for future public art opportunities and follow Clermont Main Street for upcoming projects, announcements, and community initiatives.

Clermont Main Street will provide each selected artist with the canvas for their artwork. Artists are responsible for providing their own paint, brushes, supplies, and any additional materials or mixed media elements they wish to incorporate into their piece.

Selected artists will be invited to explore a curated collection of historic Clermont photographs. Artists will have the opportunity to select their subject matter from available images, with selections being made on a first-come, first-served basis.

The collection includes a variety of themes, including landscapes, recreation, citrus history, downtown scenes, community celebrations, and portraits.

For this first round of the “With Love from Clermont” project, artists will select from a curated collection of historic photographs provided by Clermont Main Street featuring images from the Clermont Historic Village collection.

While we are not accepting additional photograph submissions for this round, we encourage artists to follow Clermont Main Street for future public art opportunities and community projects.

Final artwork must be completed on the provided 2’ x 3’ canvas and should be designed with a postcard-inspired feel. Each piece must include the tagline: “With Love from Clermont”

Yes. Selected artists will receive a $300 artist honorarium upon completion and submission of their final artwork.

The artwork created for the “With Love from Clermont” exhibit will become part of a public art initiative benefiting the Clermont community.

Following the unveiling event on September 13, 2026, the paintings will be displayed at various businesses throughout Downtown Clermont. The artwork will then be auctioned through GalaBid, with proceeds benefiting Clermont Main Street.

Because this project is intended to create a lasting community impact, artwork will not be returned to artists after submission.

Yes! Clermont Main Street is committed to recognizing participating artists. Artists will be credited through project materials, including the “With Love from Clermont” webpage and Clermont Main Street social media promotions featuring the artwork.

Artists may drop off their completed artwork as soon as it is finished, but all final pieces must be submitted by September 9, 2026.

Clermont Main Street will provide a designated drop-off location with a local business that can accept artwork during normal business hours. If those hours do not work with your schedule, artists may contact the Clermont Main Street team to coordinate an alternate drop-off arrangement.

Yes! Artists are encouraged to reinterpret historic Clermont photographs through their own unique artistic style and creative perspective. Painting styles, techniques, and artistic approaches are welcome, including mixed media elements.

Artists should include examples of their previous work within their application that demonstrate their artistic style and the type of materials or techniques they intend to incorporate. Any mixed media elements or alternative techniques must be approved as part of the application process to ensure the final piece aligns with the goals and presentation of the exhibit.

All final artwork must be completed on the canvas provided by Clermont Main Street and follow the project guidelines, including the required “With Love from Clermont” tagline.

Artists are welcome to share their creative process and promote their participation; however, Clermont Main Street may request that final artwork images remain private until the official unveiling event to preserve the community experience.

Selected artists are expected to meet all project deadlines. If circumstances prevent completion, please contact Clermont Main Street as soon as possible so the team can determine next steps.

Attendance is encouraged but not required. Artists are welcome to attend, set up a booth, meet community members, showcase additional work, and demonstrate their creative process during the unveiling event.

Yes! Artists are welcome to participate in the unveiling event at the Clermont Farmers’ Market on September 13, 2026. Artists may set up a table or tent at no cost to sell artwork, display promotional materials, demonstrate their process, or engage with attendees. Clermont-themed artwork is encouraged!

Artists retain ownership and copyright of their original artwork; however, by participating in the “With Love from Clermont” project, selected artists grant Clermont Main Street permission to display, photograph, promote, and reproduce images of the artwork for educational, promotional, and fundraising purposes related to the project and Clermont Main Street’s mission.

The completed original artwork will be included in the “With Love from Clermont” exhibit and auctioned through GalaBid, with proceeds benefiting Clermont Main Street. The artwork will not be returned to the artist following submission.

Details regarding artwork ownership, usage rights, and reproduction permissions will be outlined in the artist release agreement. Purchase of the original artwork does not transfer reproduction rights or copyright ownership unless separately agreed upon in writing with the artist.

Yes! Artists retain ownership and copyright of their original artwork and are welcome to create and sell reproductions of their piece, including prints and other merchandise.

As part of the “With Love from Clermont” project, Clermont Main Street respectfully requests that participating artists do not create or sell postcard reproductions of their submitted artwork. Postcards featuring the artwork will be produced and sold by Clermont Main Street as part of the project’s fundraising efforts to support this public art initiative.

Because this first round of the project is fully funded by Clermont Main Street and does not include sponsorship support, postcard sales will help offset project costs and allow future public art opportunities to continue in our community.

If artwork does not meet the project guidelines, timeline, or theme requirements, Clermont Main Street reserves the right to request revisions or determine whether the piece can be included in the exhibit.
